More than 120 women and girls from around Rhode Island gathered at Temple Emanu-El on Jan. 12 to learn to bake challah. The rainy evening didn't keep away the participants, who each went home with two ready-to-bake loaves. The annual event started with a reception where BRCA screening and education resources were available. This year's event was sponsored by Core Connects RI, Temple Emanu-El, JCDSRI, Temple Torat Yisrael, Touro Synagogue, Congregation Beth Sholom, Bubbie's Market, Ahava Catering, Hadassah RI, Brown RISD Hillel, Temple Habonim, Temple Beth-El and the Jewish Alliance of Greater Rhode Island.
