Burton Priest, 90

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Burton H. Priest, of Providence, died June 18, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Phyllis (Kesselman) Priest. 

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Irwin and Janette (Goldsmith) Priest. Burt was a graduate of Brown University, class of 1953 and Bentley College, class of 1957. A veteran of the Korean War, he served in England from 1954 to 1955 at the Colliers End Air Force Base. 

Burt was the founder and an officer of Priest, Kortick, Demerchant & Brough Ltd, CPAs, since 1963, now merged into DiSanto, Priest, and Company CPAs. He was a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Rhode Island Society of CPAs. For several years he served on the Ethics Committee of the RI Society of CPAs. 

A member of Temple Emanu-El, he served in the past as a member of the board and on several committees. He served on the board of directors of the Attleboro Pawtucket Savings Bank. 

He was the loving father of Jeffrey Priest (Nazly Guzman) and Mara Priest Scoliard (John Scoliard); cherished grandfather of Nicholas Scoliard, Jacquelyn Scoliard and Benjamin Priest and brother of Lawrence (Harriet) Priest and the late Shirley Priest Nasberg. 

He was a loyal and honest advisor and friend; he will be greatly missed by all.
