Author to discuss Tree of Life mass shooting at June 11 program

Posted

Author Mark Oppenheimer will lecture in person and on Zoom at Temple Emanu-El on Sunday, June 11, from 4 to 5:30 p.m., about the 2018 antisemitic mass shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue, in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh.

Oppenheimer will base his talk on his book “Squirrel Hill: The Tree of Life Synagogue Shooting and the Soul of a Neighborhood,” published in 2021.

The free event is sponsored by the Rosen Library Committee at Temple Emanu-El, 99 Taft Ave., Providence. The first 25 people to register will receive a free copy of the book prior to the program so they will have time to read it. The program will also include book signings by the author.

To register and for the Zoom link, go to teprov.org/library. For more information, contact Donna Marks, co-chair, Rosen Library Committee at Temple Emanu-El, at dpmarks1@yahoo.com.
