Temple Habonim Adult Ed Class: "Judaism and Otherness"

Facilitated by Rabbi Howard

Posted
The American Jewish experience has been defined by the tension between our desire to assimilate and our desire to protect our identity.  Recently, however, this tension has increased as our minority Jewish identity has come into conflict with our majority "white" identity.  This class will explore the intersection between our religious and racial identities, what it means to be "the other," and the ramifications of assimilating (or not) the increasing number of Jews of color.

While this class will consider some of the themes of "Sacred Conversations, Difficult Conversations" (last Fall's class), this class is open to anyone in our community.
